WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO?

We’re Holly and Pete and we work from our studio in Derbyshire, England. We’ve been working with creative businesses since 2010, producing images for their websites, social media, marketing materials, books, and online shops (such as Etsy, Folksy and Not On The High Street). HOW DID HOLLY GET STARTED AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?

Holly first picked up a camera in her early teens before going on to study photography at both College and University.  She has been running the business since graduating in 2010. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO SPECIALISE IN WORKING WITH DESIGNER/MAKERS?

Promoting and supporting independent businesses is really important to both of us, so when Holly decided to combine her photography work with her love of design and craft it happened very naturally. Together, we love discovering new makers and designers, and we think this genuine interest in what people are making helps us connect with our clients and create a lasting relationship.

WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?

We offer a range of photography services, to get a specific quote for your photoshoot please get in touch and tell us about what you're after. Our rates always include shooting, styling, and editing. 

HOW MANY PRODUCTS CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH IN A FULL / HALF DAY?

The amount varies depending on the products, styling, and client requirements. We always try to cover as much as possible in the time booked so that you receive plenty of beautiful new images to use. When sending an enquiry, please include as much information as possible and we’ll provide you with a more accurate estimate of the time required.

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR A PHOTOSHOOT?

We’ve put together some handy tips for you right here. In the run up to the shoot we'll keep in touch to discuss plans and we can set up a joint Pinterest board to collate ideas. 

DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN STUDIO?

Yes - we have a studio in Derby, situated within walking distance of the city centre. There is parking available directly outside the building for clients wishing to attend shoots / drop off products. Find out more here.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK?

We would advise enquiring about booking 6-8 weeks prior to any product/seasonal launch. This gives us time to discuss your requirements, source any specific props/backgrounds/locations and make sure we’re all properly prepared for your photoshoot.

I’M NOT BASED NEAR YOU, CAN I POST YOU MY PRODUCTS?

Yes - in fact around 90% of our clients opt to use our remote service 'You Post It, I Shoot It'. Since we launched this service in 2014, we’ve gained clients from across the UK, Europe and the US - so no matter where you're based, you can send your products to us to be photographed. 

HOW WILL I RECEIVE THE IMAGES?

We use Dropbox and/or WeTransfer to send over your images - you'll receive them as high res jpegs ready to use where you please. We can also provide them cropped to specific sizes, so they're ready to upload to your online shop/Etsy/NOTHS store front/social media, etc.

WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT?

The copyright always remains with us, however we grant clients the rights to use the images online and in print. All we ask in return is for a small credit back to us to be included where possible.

HOW DO I CREDIT YOU WHEN SHARING THE IMAGES?

We completely understand that it’s not always possible to provide a credit back to us, but where possible please use the following guide:

CAN YOU HELP WITH STYLING?

Yes - we provide both photography and styling when it comes to your photoshoot. You can take a look at our portfolio here. If you're after some styling tips, check out this guide.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE PROPS AND/OR BACKGROUNDS?

We have a large variety of props and backgrounds at the studio, but we always encourage clients to take a look around their homes and studios to see if they have any items that may work. It's a great way of adding touches of your personality and style into your images, which will help them stand out and be recognised as yours! If you need specific props sourcing, we can help you with this - just ask. 

CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH MY STUDIO / SHOP?

Absolutely, we offer a Behind The Brand Photoshoot option. Travel expenses and availability will need to be considered, but get in touch and we can discuss the details.

DO YOU OFFER ANY VIDEO SERVICES?

Yes - we launched our video service in June 2021 and since then we’ve worked with a bunch of fantastic businesses. If you’d like to find out more about the service, click here.

WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH MY WEDDING?

I’m afraid we don’t offer any sort of wedding photography services, but we can recommend a bunch of very talented photographers and videographers; Lara Elliott, Helen Rose, The Gribbons, Chris Seddon, Camera Hannah, Elly Lucas, Samuel Docker and Matt Brown
