How did you get started as a photographer?
I first picked up a camera in my early teens before going on to study photography at both college and University. I have been running my own business since graduating in 2010. If you'd like to find out how I quit my day job to pursue a career in photography you can read this interview here!
How much do you charge for product photography?
Instead of charging per image (I don't feel that's really fair!) I offer half day and full day rates. My basic day rate starts at £225 (half day £115) but to get a specific quote for your photoshoot please get in touch and tell me about what you're after. My rate includes both shooting and editing.
Do you have your own studio?
Yes - after moving from my space above Ink & Thread (where I was based for 1.5 years), I now work from a private studio in Derbyshire.
Do you have a waiting list, and how can I book?
I tend to get booked up two to three months in advance. I do occasionally have dates become available earlier, but I can't guarantee it, however there's no harm in asking! To book your shoot, email me with your requirements and we can get the ball rolling.
Can I send you my products to photograph remotely?
Yes - in fact around 90% of my clients opt to use my remote service 'You Post It, I Shoot It'. Since launching this service I've gained clients from across the UK, Europe and US - so no matter where you're based, you can send your products to me to be photographed.
How many photographs will you take/provide?
There's no specific amount - I aim to take as many as possible during the time booked but the number can vary depending on the product and what you're after. I always make sure my clients have plenty of images from their shoot which can be used across their website, online shops and social media profiles.
Who owns the copyright of the images?
The copyright always remains with me, however I grant my clients with the rights to use the images where they please. All I ask in return is for a small credit back to me to be included where possible!
I'd like you to photograph my shop / studio, is this possible?
Absolutely, however travel expenses and availability will need to be considered. Get in touch and we can discuss the details!
How do I receive the images?
I use Dropbox and/or WeTransfer to send over your images - you'll receive them as high res jpegs ready to use where you please. I can also provide them as square crops so that they're ready to upload to your online shop!
I really struggle when it comes to styling - can you help?

How do I prepare for a photoshoot?
I've put together some handy tips for you right here. In the run up to the shoot we'll keep in touch to discuss plans and we can even set up a joint Pinterest board to collate ideas.
Do I need to provide props for the photoshoot?
I have a variety of props at the studio, but I always encourage my clients to take a look around their homes/studios to see if they have any items that may work. It's a great way of adding touches of your personality and style into your images, which will help them stand out and be recognised as yours! If you need specific props sourcing, I can help you with this - just ask.
What happens if I'm not happy with the images?
If you're not satisfied with the results from your shoot, I will organise a re-shoot at no extra cost.
